Biogas technology is the process of harnessing methane gas produced by the fermentation or decomposition of organic matter. Our Biogas Project began in 2010 as a tool for the School of Mission students to use as a platform for the Gospel in the nations they are called to.
With this community development tool, we have held training sessions for Samoa, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, and Vanuatu.
We have officially begun a partnership between YWAM Samoa, the government of Samoa and the UN to do pilot projects using Biogas. This partnership has brought about much blessing. We aim to provide missionaries-in-training with practical skills in addition to biblical and discipleship training so that they can be effective in bringing holistic transformation to the communities where they will be sent.
In August 2014, we were able to present our Biogas Project to the international Small Islands Developing States (SIDS) Conference held here in Samoa and a conference in American Samoa. From these two events, we have been invited to come to teach, train, and build in countries around the world.
We regularly run Biogas Workshop training seminars, our next one is running May 4th-29th 2020!
